Fortget the yogurt. This place is great. Some of the best gelato in NYC.

I thought it was interesting that the cashier didn't actually ask for my carefully cut-out coupons. He just automatically took off the various amounts on the discounted items. Sadly though, tempers were flaring as I left the store. I saw two women arguing over a handicapped parking space, with one combatant out of her car and calling the other person a "liar". The poor security guard in the middle of it all was not happy.

The overpriced American comfort food is pretty good too. I particularly like their desserts.

So annoying at the library today. Two librarians and two patrons with "issues," and someone forgot to turn on the self-checkout machine.

I got Three Cups of Tea, a non-fiction book about building schools in Afghanistan, that comes highly rated from my school principal and another teacher.
I'm also reading Hound of the Baskervilles on my iPhone. Classics app. I'm enjoying it so far.

The same thing happened to me at Trader Joe's on Jan. 2. At least I parked on the street and didn't get caught in the gridlocked parking lot.

This place is packed! I thought everybody else would be back at work or school. It must be the latest coupon book kickoff date that got us all in here today.

Can I assume you're browsing in the non-fiction section? I have some great fiction titles for you, but I know you won't listen ;)

Back looking for books, and the library seems to have been invaded by DVDs and CDs. Revenue producing?

We don't have any sort of "self-checkout" at either our local Pavilons/Vons or at the South Pasadena (CA) Public Library. It sounds very convenient.

I'd rather Defiance had been on cable, because then more people might have seen it, learned a little history. It's not a good enough picture for people to go out and pay for. How many WWII movies were there in 2008 that no one saw? Yes, better on TV.
Thanks for the 7 lbs update. I can skip it!.

Self-check hasn't come here yet. My public library has self-checkout, very simple, but I'm the only person I've ever seen use it. Everyone else waits in line.

self check line is quicker when store is crowded because one line feeds four checkout machines, as opposed to the 1:1 ratio of the regular lines.

Good food but sometimes slow & lousy service. At times there's a wait but worth it
